Kasauli in June

First Step Hotel Booking

We were four adults me , my wife and parents. Ideally looking for a family room.
I tried looking for hotels in Kasauli just a few days before my travel as it was planned at last minute.
Luckily i found a room available for a family of four in Bird's View . I directly called and booked a Premier cottage for four on Ground floor, right next to reception.

Raja is one man army. Had to follow up a bit to get the room confirmation done but that was fine, as i think i got a better deal compared to booking online.

Journey - Delhi to Kasauli
We started from Delhi on 3rd morning 6:00am and planned to reach Kasauli by 12. But that was not to be.
We reched Parwanoo around 11:30 and after that we got a traffic. Finally we reached Kasauli around 1:30pm

Day 1 Kasauli

Check-in at hotel was smooth and we were quickly shown are room which was a double bed set. It was more like a Studio with an attached Room. But it was spacious none the less. The best part was that outside we had an amazing view of the foothills and town below. It was mesmerizing. Clearly the owner (My Gill) is a man of taste. Everything was done tastefully. There was a Sunset room, a Coffee room on 1st floor , a big terrace . So there were lot of places to just sit and relax in the hotel. We didn't have a private balcony but we never felt the need to have one.

  • Tibetian Market
  • Bundh Samosa and Momos.
  • Church

Day 2 Kasauli

Learning - Always have your tank full on foot hills. We ended up short on fuel. Had to travel back to Dharampur to fill our tank.

  • The Trail  - I asked Raja for a trail near hotel to explore mother nature. And he suggested a beautiful trail right next to hotel . It is a small trail but easy for begineers and offers amazing view.s

  • Gilbert Trail - i got a big optimistic with morning experience and decided on doing Gilbert trail. Basically its quite far from the market. Better to take your car up to the last point. from there you can walk to the Sunset point and gilber trail.

Journey Kasauli - Delhi
We wanted to leave early and avoid any traffic. so we decided to leave by 9:00 and reach delhi by 4 pm.

Lucky for us we did leave by 9:00 and manage to come down to plains by 10:30. So we decided to visit the famous Pinjor Gardens. That was on our to do list on day one.

Pinjore Gardens

Basically Kasauli is a basic no nonsense Hill Station with not much to do other than a market and a church. Just go there and relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery and rains and birds and air. Away from the city hussle bussle.
