Dubai 2018

It was again that time of the year when I wanted and craved for a vacation. Hence in September when nothing materialized for a trip, i got an idea from wife's old wish to go to Dubai. I booked my flights from makemytrip for travel on my 6th marriage anniversary for a duration from 3rd Dec'18 to 8th Dec'18, and then the more difficult task of booking an hotel started. Took almost a week to 10 days to finalize the hotel after lot of research on internet. Park Regis Kris kin was our original choice and ultimately booked it. It was in Bur Dubai. Many people suggested we stay in or near Sheikh Jayed road as it is new part of Dubai, but we decided to stay in the Indian area. It had many options for Indian Restaurants. That tilted the tide in its favor.

In October , around 2 months before my travel I started planning the itinerary of day to day stay in Dubai. That was the most arduous part. Dubai has so much to offer. From beaches to building , to theme parks to dessert safari.

Finally below is what our itinerary looked like

Day1, Monday, 3rd Dec : We landed in Dubai via spicejet flight from Delhi at 10:30. It is a huge airport, we quickly took our bags and went to the Sim counter. Got our sim for 90 AED and booked  a Careem Cab from outside. Later we realized it's an expensive option compared to the regular RTA cabs.

Once reaching the hotel got to know that we couldn't get early check-in hand hence had to kill 3 hours some how. We went to the Burjuman mall right in front of the hotel.

It is the oldest mall in Dubai. We had our lunch there and did some shopping. Came back and checked in our bags and met my wife's friend in the evening. Luckily for us she offered her daughters Pram for Anvika my daughter, who is 4 year old. And that turned out to be a real blessing for us.

View from the top floor of our hotel was amazing. And we could see the Dubai Frame and complete Dubai skyline.

Later in night we went to our Dhow cruise for dinner on Creek. It was from Oberoi travels.

Day 2, Tuesday : I had planned second day before hand. Morning 10AM was our booking for the world's tallest building and going to 124 & 125 floor. We took a cab from hotel and reached Dubai Mall around 9:30 am. It is a humongous mall and of course world's largest. A short walk took us to the entrance for Burj Khalifa. We showed our passes and entered the queue. In the morning queue was relatively small and we quickly reached to the top. The view from the top was amazing. We spent the time at leisure there and spent two hours exploring the two floors open to use.

After that we headed to the Dubai Aquarium and under water zoo. Pretty cool that they have all this in a mall. Huge variety of sharks can be seen in the aquarium.

After that we had lunch. Now to spend some 3 hours before musical fountains, we went to La Mer beach nearby. It was an amazing newly developed beach front. Mostly empty, we had the whole place to explore at leisure. Maybe because it was just Tuesday not many people were there. It was developed by Meraas developers few years back.

Later we returned to Dubai mall to watch the fountain show. The musical fountain was amazing and mesmerizing

Day 3, Wednesday: This day was also fully packed. However we got a bit tired from Day 2 and wanted to take a bit easy. So we started our day a bit late and went to Meena bazaar nearby. We had our breakfast there and did some shopping and also saw the Dubai Museum

From there we went straight to Miracle Garden. It was quite far and spent around 80 AED to reach. The complete tiredness in body went away seeing this place. it is so beautiful and out of this world.

From there we went to Global Village. It is a Pragati Maidan of Countries and it's huge and pretty simple to cover , made around a big central open space with all pavilions around. All the pavilions were beautiful specially the Turkey and Africa one. Didn't buy anything from there as prices were high.

Day 4 , Thursday : Day 4 was reserved for some thrill activities. We took the shuttle bus for Dubai Parks and Resorts from Burjuman in morning. A 40 min ride took us to the awesome work of Motion Gate , Lego Land and Bollywood. We took the two parks one day pass which costed us around 14000 INR from Headout.

A day well spent and Anvika enjoyed every bit of it. We were not even tired at the end of the day even though we walked so much.

Took the shuttle back at 8 PM ,even though we wanted to spend more time there.

We had dinner at a Pakistani restaurant nearby. Food was not that great and to our liking. I am sure Non Veg was great. We were there for Veg food. Also did some shopping at Day to Day

Day 5, Friday: Today we had a booking at the Dolphinarium for 11 am Show. It's the day when the tickets are discounted and hence public had reached to see it. Creek part in itself has nothing other to offer for Tourist. I am sure for residents its a great place to relax and do picnic. We came back and spent some time in Burjuman before our pickup for Dessert Safari with Red Sands

They picked us from the Hotel and took us straight to the camp in 4X4. It was a nice ride and we first went to the Durt biking area. Took few pics with Eagles and went for Dune Bashing, it was a thrilling and exhilaration experience. With a small kid it was better than expected. After a small stopover for pics in sand and watching sun set we went to our Dessert Camp. There was nothing special about it. We had dinner , and watched some shows like Tannura dance, Fire dance and Belly dance.

Day 6, Saturday: The return days are most difficult as you are closing our beautiful trip. We went to Kite beach in morning and spent few hours at this beautiful beach with a view of Burj Al Arab. After that did some shopping at Burjuman , returned the Pram to friends place.

That was the end of our beautiful vacation in Dubai.
